On the Caterpillar side, the core of the offering is Solar Turbines gas turbine packages and reciprocating engines, providing sites with electric power and thermal energy in combined cooling, heat and power (CCHP) configurations. Vertiv is responsible for power distribution, cooling systems and lifecycle services.
The solutions are built from pre-engineered modular blocks, which speeds up deployment, lowers PUE and reduces dependence on grid capacity. The target audience is AI data center operators that need on-site generation without waiting years for a grid connection.
For the industry, this is further confirmation of the growing role of Solar Turbines industrial gas turbines in distributed generation: the range from Saturn to Titan covers site requirements from single to tens of megawatts.
